GP GeeBee conversion
I have a Great Plane GeeBee I'd like to convert to electric. Can anyone help me with a power system set up? I'd prefer using an AXI just because of cost, but I'll go to Hacker if I have to.
Thanks |
RE: GP GeeBee conversion
No reason you can't use a 4130/16 AXI and 20 cells (or 6S LiPoly). That'll spin a 16x10 prop, give you nearly 900 Watts input, and should clear the cowl so it doesn't look ridiculous :)

RE: GP GeeBee conversion
I wanted an electric GeeBee. I looked at the GP but concluded that at it's 11 lb weight, I'd need 1,100W to power it.
It would be so expensive that I looked around and found the Adrian Page 1/5 GeeBee kit. At 6.5lb I can power it for a lot less $. Yes it's a kit but it is also half the weight. Here's a link to my re-maiden: http://rcgroups.com/gallery/showgall...0&ppuser=19395 I have since gone to a slightly larger motor 22/30/2 and 17X12 prop. RE: GP GeeBee conversion
is it 11lb? then I would choose more power... say 1.5-2kW but that´s just me... ;)
