45" ZIVKO EDGE 540 to Electric

I picked up a Nitro Models Zivko Edge 540 ARF over a year ago and it’s time to build it. [link]http://www.nitroplanes.com/newed5402545.html
I wanted to set it up as an electric 3D not glow. I don’t expect much from this ARF but I own it along with all the radio gear. I haven’t seen any other threads on this simple ARF anywhere. In any case, I have no idea what power plant to use to pull this 3.6 pound plane around as I don’t have much electric experience other then my E-Flite Tribute. Can someone please give me a sound combination of motor, ESC, prop adapter, spinner size, starting prop size and a motor mount that will give me a firewall to prop mount of 3.9 inches? Was that a lot of stuff or what?
I also noticed there is no access hatch on this bird either. I guess I would have to pull the canopy for battery access?

This is what is listed on the web site incase my link won’t work. (Yes I know it says 500W Outrunner but not sure if that is enough as well as my other laundry list of items.)

How did your 540 turn out. I have had nothing but hell with mine trying to get the flying weight within reality limits. I have a .34 on mine with servos RTF it's about a pound over what the CMP people say it's supposed to be.

If the plane ends up at the predicted weight of around 4 pounds, you want to have about 100-120 watts per pound to perform aerobatic maneuvers. For extreme 3D, you may want to go higher (150-200 watts per pound). I have the following power system for my Pilatus PC-6 that weight in at 93 oz (6.4 pounds).
Turnigy SK 42-40 750kv motor
Turnigy Plush 60 Amp ESC with BEC
11 x 8 Master Air Screw 3-blade prop
Flightmax 4S 5000mah Battery
15.55 Volts
37.63 Amps
585 Watts
9210 RPM
93 oz AUW

This setup would give you 146 watts per pound assuming your plane has an All Up Weight (AUW) of 4 pounds.

Hi Tofast... I just bought the same plane and was wondering what electronics you decided on and how was the maiden flight? I
Mine was missing a few parts like wheel pants, brushless motor mount and got the wrong canopy. My main concern is the mtr mount.
Did you experience the same?

Hopefully they will send shortly.

I had to make my own motor mount out of some aluminium flat stock. Went with the Turnigy 500W Outrunner but been having a hard time on what to do with battery placement/cutting a hatch. So its been sitting. May have to remove the canopy to change the battery. I have been playing with some more advanced planes from http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/
Besure to check out the Slick.......

Man... the Slicks are really nice. Once I get this one up in the air to train on, I'll get a Slick. Thanks for the link.

I have lost the instructions for mine,can anyone tell me what they recommend that the CG should be?
