Interesting Experience..w. ST.34
Today I've got as addition to some goods from an ebay auction an ST.34G (H?).
This engine was totally clogged with epoxy. The Head was glued to the cylinder and even the Needles of the carb where glued to the carb.
The head had lost some fins also. The main problem was, that the carb was broken of from the engine, the rear part of the carb slot (?)
on the crankcase was broken of and missing.
What todo?
Hmm, I've bought some aluminum solder 2 years before and now it was time to test if I can repair such problems with it.
I've soldered some ugly hills on the crankcase with an butane torch(?) and milled them so that the carb is fitting again
and can be fastened. Ok, so far so good.
Now I've tried to mount the front bearing, but it was to small?!?
Uh.
The Bohre for the front bearing is 19,5mm now and the bearing has an outer diameter of 19mm.
Same symptoms on the rear bearing and the liner is fitting very loosely to the case.
Every hole in the Crankcase has grown so that it is unusable now.
I must have been overheated the alloy while soldering, interesting.
This isn't a great loss, since the Crankcase was junk anyways.
Just mailed a dealer here in germany that has some partslist on his website for Supertigere
about the costs of a crankcase and the head, but I think it isn't worth the effort to ask for the price.
Kind Regards,
Holm

I might have a used (and pretty worn out) G34 in my parts box. The problem is my parts box is 140 km away. The good news is I am going there this week. If I do indeed have the engine I will send it to you for the case (which is in excellent shape) for free.
I should be back Thursday...

That would be very nice.
Please drop me a mail if you find it, the head additionally where fine :-)
(The one that I have is very ugly now, many bent and broken of fins)
Mail me your paypal account (if you have one) since I don't think that you really want
to ship to germany for free ...
The rest of my ST seems to be in good shape, so I think I can get it to run again with your help.
Thanks in advance,
Holm
