RE: ST .61 carb retaining bar
The thought had crossed my mind. Thought I would ask first. The old one has stripped threads. The bad retaining bar was on a students plane. I was fixing the crash damage on the engine and gave him one off my ST.61, I wasnt using it at the time. I could probably retap it but would like to have another just in case.

RE: ST .61 carb retaining bar
I have made several
Use a hex socket head bolt.
With a round file make the area that rests against the carb.
I cut the head off and dress the end by putting the bolt in a drill and using a file on the end of the bolt. When done, you can not tell it from a factory original.

I took some mild steel rod of almost the correct size and chucked it up in my lathe and milled it down as needed and threaded it. The rod has a slight taper to it so it fits snugly at the opposite end of course. i then slipped it into the intake where the carb goes and marked it for filing in the groove.
it works great.
Here is one that I made for a RC conversion for a Marz 2.5cc diesel engine.
I made a couple three of them just in case.
