After posting a few pictures I realized I don't have pictures of most of my fleet. But i did find a couple of my Hanger 9 Sopwith Camel. It is powered by an OS 70 4 stroke, running inverted.

There are some RC car guys that put the old OS .70 Ultimate into a 4x4 1/8th scale monster trucks. I think the ultimate is a fancy name for a Surpass isn't it? OS made a 4-stroke .26 specifically for RC cars but I haven't found a whole lot of information about what parts were used to do so.
I want to stuff a 4-stroke in one of my monster trucks but all I have are Enyas. Finding a clutch to fit an aircraft engine is a tad hard to do without modifying a flywheel and clutch from a 2-stroke with a smaller crankshaft.

WELCOME JOEY B! Your #66. Any one happen to know how citabria got its name? A bit of useless knowledge. I thought you were talking about the FL70. I was going to say I had a parts engine if you needed it. Never cared for that one.

Hello everyone. I'm 58 years old, and started with an .049 in roughly 63 or 64. Hard to remember that far back. That was a control line Bipe I built. Started into RC around 92 with a Aerostar with a OS 40 SF in it. I am almost strictly a four stroke guy now. Do have 1 gas engine in my 1/4 BUSA Pup. Have taught two sons to fly, and am one year away from teaching my 6 year old Grandson how to fly. He is already on the sim. I love to fly what I build. For the guy who said an electric brotherhood would already have 1000 people, just look at the Saito brotherhood. That's just one engine maker. There are plenty of us "Glowheads" out there. Kinda of curious how many people would be in an OS brotherhood. Well that's it for me. Happy flying to all. Glow, gas, or electric.

Just my opinion, but I think an electric club/brotherhood should require a year of flying them due to the high incidence of them being forgotten about soon after Christmas. This isn't meant as a snub, and glow aircraft also has this happen, but the numbers for electric must be very high.

The glow engine market was dealt a death blow when the EPA started to shut down the nitro methane manufactures in the USA. Nitro is now imported from China and we all know what the cost of fuel is now. Our own government did this to us. Gas and electrics are the future and in another ten years glow will vanish. I tried gas and electrics but the addiction to glow held a tighter grip. I'm still flying fixed and rotary wing models on glow fuel and I will until I die.

Don't worry my friend gas and electrics are not the future for most of us on here. And if they ban nitro production like they banned alcohol in the 20's and 30's i'll be the biggest bootlegger in town.
You guys are lucky re glow fuel cost we pay 3 times that.

Dow Chemical still makes nitromethane in the US I believe. Most of the nitro we use is imported but it is still made in the US. I forget where they use it but it's used as a solvent in industrial/manufacturing I think.

I guess I'll always be flying some glo, I mostly fly gas, but glo engines always have a place, like in my C-47 with 2 OS .91FS pumpers. I also fly some electrics and have no problems with others that do, but if I hear one more guy come up to me and tell me " your airplanes are too noisy why don't you go electric" he won't go home happy!!! you want to fly solely electric? fine, don't be breaking my shoes over my gas or glo aircraft.

I've never had anyone tell me that, but I'd probably send them home the same way if they had. I have no issues at all with what anyone else likes. After all, it's there opinion. And we are ALL entitled to one.if people want to think were stupid for flying glow, then that's they're problem.abd what I have to say about that is, simply, boo hoo hoo.

Very true. They can be quite quiet if you so choose. I have an OS 55Ax on a pitts that's barely louder than an electric of the same size. In fact, if I was flying alongside said electric, you might not hear me.
