Dave i'm pretty sure they show two different 90 degree adapters there. The one on the engine snaps quite easily and you can see why when you look at one afterwards.I use the one shown on it's own with the black nut on the thread and have had no failures yet. It's essential to properly support the flex pipe if you use that too.

ps i've seen a lot of different adapters that look similar so don't know how many different people make them.Good riding weather over there yet?

OS flex pipes crack just as bad as the Saito ones.

If your a DIYr, save yourself some cash. I bend my stock pipe to 90deg, no prob. Find two sockets that fit the pipe end, put one in a vise, place the pipe on it, put the other socket on a handle and insert it in the other end of the pipe. Now get a mapp gas torch and heat the middle white hot and slowly bend the pipe to 90deg. make sure you leave the stop nuts on both end of the pipe. I've done it many times. Good luck, red

In addition to that, it will only work W/flex pipes. Your stock muffler will not work W/the Saito 90* adaptor. Been there, done that.

You use the short slightly angled standard extension off the 90 degree elbow then screw the muffler on.

What I meant was the thread is for a gland nut like the flex pipes. It is different than the standard exhaust extension.
