Default where do you buy your glow fuel on the Internet

so I am just wondering where do you guys buy glow fuel on the Internet ??

I would like to stick with Byron's/or Wildcat (same company) but it's hard to find from the bigger distributors on line, Towers is out of stock of course and I can't find 20/20 at Horizon,

I can drive 50 miles and buy O'Donnell's, I don't mind the drive but I have not used it before and I would just like to stick with what I have used

thanks for the info guys !!

https://fhsoils.com/product/rc-airplane-fuel/

One source if you can work your way through their web site. A call, might be easier.

If you take a llittle time and call Wildcat you can usually get a good price on a multi- case club order.
I forget how many cases you need to buy.
It also helps to have a commercial storefront or shop where the fuel can be delivered. Give them a call and ask about "club ordering".

On the other hand, I have been mixing my own fuel for years. I even have methanol delivered to my door in 55 gallon drums for as little as $ 2.50 gallon . The nitromethane, I get in 5 gallon cans. Oil from the Klotz booth at the Toledp show and the castor oil from American Shortening and Oil Co in Livonia.

By mixing at home you can get exactly the fuel you want and save money at the same time.

Not that many people are going to store 55 gallon drums of methanol.

I'm OK for fuel I have 11.5 gallons of the Wildcat 10% 18% full synthetic. Tower had it for 88 bucks per 4 gallon case and I jumped on it.

Of course not

However a group can get together and divide . By the time nitromethane and oil are added, there is quite a bit more than 50 gallons.
Alternately and more common, VP and Torco also sell in 5 gallon cans. Our corner auto parts sells on 5 gallon cans from VP.
Different strokes. Get exactly the fuel you want and save money as well.
Just an alternatve , not for everybody, like I also suggested , you can also get bulk order fuel at substantial savings by making the right contacts.

But store bought fuel isn't the first choice for everybody either. Just a couple of the options.

I may at times have more than 25 gallons in the shed, It usually goes to the field a gallon or two at a time.

I can buy 30 gallon bottles of Methanol but I wont mix, that would be just more that I will have to do LOL

as I said I can't find Plane Fuel on Horizon's site, all I can find there is Car fuel, so I called Horizon and the computer told me I had over an hour to wait because of the callers before me, so I called Byron's, they told me that Horizon had just received a load of fuel the middle of last month, so I will look more on their site, if I can't find it tonight I will call tomorrow

thanks guy !!!

Too bad you don't live nearby. I would be very happy to mix a batch for you as needed. We usually do our fuel mixing in late spring as needed. I only store fuel in suitable, metal containers.
Also many people in this area pick up fuel at the Toledo RC show in case lots at a huge discount. Klotz oilvand nitromethane are there as well at low prices.
You can find fuel on eBay too.
I called Wildcat earlier this year about club orders and was quoted some great prices, for store-bought fuel anyhow.

Can you get some other club members to throw in with you?

I mix my own fuel to save money. The hobby shops charge $38 a gallon on average. I mix my own for up to $15/gallon for my car fuel which is 20-30% Nitro and 11-12% oil. Methanol is available locally for $2.50 a gallon. I can even make my own washer fluid for my truck and save money.

I'm getting my washing fluid for less than a buck a gallon, so I don't worry about that.

Morgan Fuel is a two hour drive from here. I used to live in that town and never knew this. They let you buy direct if there isn't a hobby shop near you.

I could drive to SIG and buy fuel, but the gas money required to go to and from makes it cost prohibitive. Besides, I use up to 5 different blends for the various types of engines I run. I am not one of those one-fuel-fits-all guys. I am very specific and deliberate with what I use.

Different engines , different fuels
Best way to know what you have is to roll your own.

I have Scott working an angle to get Nitro cheaper than $76/gal. The $20+ per gallon jump sucks balls.

Yeah, the per gallon price through amazon or eBay jumped to $76 per gallon this season thanks to new tariffs on Chinese goods.

Yes, Scott the Pylon Guy is working to pull some strings to get a local (sorta) VP dealer to order in 5-gal buckets of nitro.

I looked up nitro production several years ago, and India was a major producer alongside China. If that remains true, we don't have to buy from China with their tariffs.

Not unusual to see unfounded profiteering under conditions like we are seeing.

And I have never cared for Byron’s fuels. My homemade fuel runs better and cooler than the storebought swill. I’ll pay $70 a gallon for pure Nitro to keep making my own fuel over buying the $40 a gallon or premix crap they sell. SIG is about the only fuel that behaved reasonably well and didn’t gouge me too horribly ($28-30/gal) in the wallet.

So far Bryon's has not changed the Wildcat formulas, us Wildcat users are worried about that though.
