I have collected a few OS 40 LA recently. Refurbished the ugly ones and ran them on the engine stand. APC 11 X 6 prop and APC 10 X 7, 80 percent methanol, 20 percent Klotz and no nitromethane. I used the Nova Rossi 1C ultra hot, OS #8, Enya #3. I took out the baffle in the E3030 muffler. Tested three separate engine including one that was ready for the trash bin. They all idle at 2,000 rpm reliably. Wide open throttle range from 9,400 rpm to 9,700 rpm. No detonation/backfire issue.
