Try MECOA. Model Engine Collectors of America's site. There might be some things of interest to you there.
Not sure...but try WWW.MECOA.COM.
Good Luck!

Hey,
Mecoa is a manufacturer of very good engines from the US. What you want is MECA (Model engine collectors of america) email me and I'll give you the information. I'm a member since 1997.
Thanks,
Mike M.

You can also get some clues to older engine values by watching some E-bay auctions... This helps a lot because with a pic of the engine, you get a passible idea of condition-price relationship. While a mint condition engine could be quite valuable... a worn-out, abused example of the same engine could be worthless.

Also watch for reproductions of vintage engines. Nothing like buying a "classic" and discovering it was made 6 weeks ago.
Engines are instantly devalued by just about anything. RUNNING an engine kills it's value. The little marks in the mounting lugs when you stick an oversized screw in there? Instant Trash.
If you plan on selling it....wrap it in foam and seal it in Nitrogen....<G> Otherwise it's garbage to a serious collector.

Niteflyer said it all. Collecting old engines is like collecting coins. Uncirculated is extremely valuable. Circulated is less valuable but still has some value depending on condition. Everything has a certain value depending on condition. maxtenet is certainly right about MECA it's NOT MECOA. As to reproduction engines they are very useful for us old shells that belong to the Society of Antique Modelers. We still like to fly ignition engines but don't want to run the real collectors items. Considering what we paid for the originals $9.95 to $21.95 and now have to pay $200 to $400 for a reproduction - Ye gawds. My first Baby Cyclone cost me three weeks of hard work on lawns and paper routes to get the necessary 10 bucks for a used one. Not complaining. Just happy for 70 years of fun and still going strong.
