Got a Rossi? Hold on to it.
I got into the JustEngines web site, looking for certain information about Rossi engines.
I couldn't find Rossi in the JE catalog, but found [link=http://www.justengines.unseen.org/Rossi.htm]this page[/link].
It appears Ugo Rossi has passed away and Rossi nearly ceased manufacturing aero engines.
There are many aero engines to be sold in dealers' inventories, but few new ones are manufactured.

Eldon,
If I am to trust the words in the JE web page, there are only two aero engines in the 2004 catalog, also a couple of marine .21s.
All the rest are car engines, the son Sandro's great love.

Dar
As I understand it the company is reorganized and Paula Rossi is now the operations manager of the model engine division.
The engines are available here from hobby shops and I see the 40, 45, 53 and 60.
I believe Sahak Ghoukasian is the importer. shop.vendio.com/RossiEnginesUSA. Some of the engines 40 and 45 I believe are being sold under the name Matrix. Probably some sole importer legal gymnasticsm because Sig had been the official importer of those engines before.
Wait! Didn't we already have this dialog?

Denis,
We did in part, for other reasons. It was started by another member for his own concerns.
But it is the first time I went into JE and did not see Rossi there.
Officially, I believe, Morris Hobbies is the importer of Rossi to the USA.
Sahak Ghoukasian sells these same engines. In fact, he is dominating most of the Rossi traffic in that auction site.

RE: Got a Rossi? Hold on to it.
You know, starting a thread like this, with no sound proof of Rossi's intentions, could be construed as criminal and subject to lawsuits.... at least here in the US.
Never, would I post something like this without having the hard facts in front of my face, and even then, I would probably not subject myself to any kind of slander issues/defenses.
I hope your wrong, Rossi makes an outstanding quality motor, and at great prices. They definately have their place in the "aero" part of this hobby.
My 2 cents

RE: Got a Rossi? Hold on to it.
Sahak,
Is Rossi still producing the 105 DF engine?
If so, what is the cost including pipe and what Fan is recommended to get to the advertised rpm's?
Thanks,
Jurgen

RE: Got a Rossi? Hold on to it.
Jurgen,
Rossi makes 105 DF engine from time to time. It is kind of a seasonal production.
Of course if you place an order for 100 DF engines, they will start making them today.
I do not stock the DF engines since there is not many buyers. I can check with factory
if there are any available, or to let you know when they are in production.
Rossi made two kinds of DF engines, a pusher and a puller type.
The puller is like the regular plane engine.
Which one would you be interested in ?

RE: Got a Rossi? Hold on to it.
Hi
I have a rossi 60 still in the box. Just luv the look of it. Mean and aggressive. Like the Lamborghini of aero engines. Does Rossi make any aero engine bigger than 60 size. In particular 90 or 120 for pattern. They seem big in the buggy arena but I dont see much in the airplane arena where the real men play

I believe there is also a spin-off of the Rossi dinasty ... my understanding is that somebody in the family took off and founded
NovaRossi which sells aero and car engines... i'll check for the nitty gritty

blixsim:
Rossi makes a .65 aero w/pump that competes in the .90 class and they also make the 1.05 (read posts above!).
The .65 w/pump will flat WHIP a big prop.

Gary,
...But not props as large as a much cheaper, lighter MVVS .77, will spin without a pump.
Besides, I don't think the .65 is produced any longer.
It is apparently not among the two that are in the 2004 catalog, JustEngines are talking about.
I believe Sahak Ghoukasian still has a good number of them in stock.

Sahak
I agree with Blixsim that Rossi should still be producing 90 engines. I don't know why they ever stopped, but with the engine of choice for 60 size planes now being 90 2-strokes they wouldn't have any trouble selling as many as they cared to make-provided they keep the cost reasonable. If you are an investor in the company and work with the factory to give the customer what they want, I'm sure they will listen to you when you tell them WE WANT A 90!
Make It Hap'n, Cap'n!

RE: Got a Rossi? Hold on to it.
OK- So who makes the "Matrix" then?
I have had the .45 and now have a .60 also- Awesome engines, the 45 ran beautifully right out of the box
Folks who say the Rossi line are finicky, and should be used for racing only etc. well they should run the factory set Evolution engines.... keeps that darned needle-valve from moving too much [X(][8D]

Thanks guys
Would really love to get my hands on one of those 105s. Rossi line-up is very difficult to obtain in my kneck of the woods. Wonder if Sahak would post one of his down south.[8D]
