Default General Engine questions, 4-cycle beginner

ok to my knowledge there are 3 things i should be messing with.. Right?

1. Needle valve, I understand this one pretty good i hope, You can richin and Lean out our intake, pretty simple...

2. The screw thing on the back of the carb.. Im not sure what it does, all i know is that i had trouble started and someone recommended i screw it to look like this picture

3. Idle screw... What do i need to be listening for , or tuning for to use this, I have no idea i havnt touched it... ( thats that little one near the needle right?)
I also showed the idle screw where i think it is, at the bottom..

I just know i dont want to screw with things and hurt my engine eheh! thanks this site is great..

Yes....that's the idle speed screw....but most guys set it so the carb
closes completely, and the engine can be shut off with the throttle trim
lever on the radio....

....that screw holds the barrel in place on the carb as well.

ok i figured that out! But ive got a problem...

The Throttle Arm doesnt like me.. It cant get the full throw because the throtle arm goes in a circular motion rather then left to right or whatever...

I was thinking of useing wire, to attack to the arm and wire and that would help it out, but other then that what do i do?!

Yes....the throttle arm moves in and out, as it opens and closes. The holes in
the arm move up and down a bit as well, as it moves forward and back....to
actuate the barrel.

You have to set up the linkage in the middle of these two, so it won't bind
when it moves back and forth....or in and out.

(I hope I explained that right )

You have to run the wire and the shield for the throttle wire away from
hitting the fuel tank, or rubbing on anything. Sometimes you don't have
a straight shot....so you have to bend the wire to make it work right.
