Yep! I did mine, used a band saw and cut a stright cut on the outside of the 3 mounting holes on the back plate. The back plate at the fire wall only makes contact in 3 places where the bolts make contact. Works fine.

I lightened my Moki 180 mount with a Dremel. I left the ring intact, but pared the bell shaped housing down to three "spokes" at the mounting hole stations. Flew it quite a bit that way with no problems.
The 180 is on a normal mount now when I put it in a different plane.
