Hey Bill,
today I tried my 9B engine with the 20'' x 7'' prop, and all worked ok, no misfire, no loss of power, no loosing of cylinders. But I think 6200 rpm when leaned out is not enough, and the 22'' x 8'' should work too, because Technopower recomends a 24'' x 6'' is ok too. So I try again to get the correct valve timing from Technopower.
Thanks again for Your information,
Holm und Ripenbruch

Sweet Kmot!
Do you like the moki/RCS engine ?
How often do you have to lube the rocker arms and pushrods ?
Have you flown the FW-190 yet ?
Is it much noisier than anything else around :-) ?

Hi all,
An interessant link about model engines mono and multi cylinders, provided by LABEMA Laboratories, one of the best european model fuels manufacturer, leader in corrosion inhibitors for Industry :
www.carburant-modelisme.com
A Belgian Friend, Jean-Philippe HANART , member of the LABEMA TEAM, build himself his 5, 7 , 9 and 18 cylinders radial engines.
Photos avaiable on the webpage.
I fly now with O.S Twin cylinders FT 120II, FT 160, FT 240 and FT 300, and I have a dream for a FR5-300 ......
Happy New Year 2007 for you !

sorry, I found the advertise, it was for MVVS engines, not for MOKI, but I try to ask the people of SAVEX in the Czech Republic, may be they know where to get MOKIs directly.

Sonnich, a little more, I remember engel ( www.engelmt.de ) sells moki too, they are about 100.- Euro cheaper than airworld.
Oh, and I found this video of the 215 Moki: www.gardo.se/video.htm
Do You live in Sweden? Perhaps it's near to You?

Thanks Gnome. Engelmt has the same price as all the other places :-)
2600 for the 215, and 2900 Euros for the 250
The chances of finding them cheaper are very slim
There is a 215 on ebay.de for 2450, but I want a brand new one that I can drool over.
Thanks for the video....I never get tired of watching this engine run. Keep them comming
I live in Denmark. Sweden is only 20 minutes drive over the bridge from here.

Bill,
the latest news relating my Technopower 9C problem: I have got some very detailed information from Technopower, it seems they doen't know the absolute correct vave timing, because it's individual for the special engine. Advice is to make test runs to fine tune the timing to the highest rpm at full throttle, it's also possible to fine tune to the highest crankcase vacuum first.
My engine is an very early 9C, that suffers the same problem as all early 9Cs, the rods and pistons are relatively heavy so that the crank will break at revs higher than 7000rpm due to the mass forces. Due to this plus a smaller carb it has less power than the actual engines. As a result of this and because the Spirit of St.Louis I want to make a combo with needs the power I think about selling it again instead of lightening all the rods and pistons and piston and big end pins.

Robert Stack never played an air race pilot. Perhaps you are thinking of Clark Gable instead?
Here is a list of all of Robert Stack's movies:

Thanks for the info, Kmot, I doen't think of Clark Gable, it was Robert Stack and I found the movie on the website You told me. The title is "The Tarnished Angels", 1958, direktor was Douglas Sirk.
Now that I know the title and so on I hope I can get a DVD with the film, it really is magnifficent!
Thank You again for helping, Kmot!

Yes, sometimes it is strange what thing is important to somebody in the plot, as I remember R. Stack is traveling from one air race to the other (taking place at the beach) all the time, his mechanic fixing another plane after he was crashing his bipe. It seems as if the reporter, played by Rock Hudson, is the important person in the plot to the guy who wrote the summary on the website.

Hi every one, has any one tried the Magnum AR400 radial or OS Max 300 radial in the top flite giant scale corsair. The popular engine choice for the GP corsair seems to be G62. While browsing through an online hobby shop i saw the GP giant corsair on their stock list and it said not recomended for OSmax 300 radial. I would love some feedback as i have both engines and wanted to build that corsair for a while now. I also have a G62 but its just too rough and i really like the smoothness of 4 stroke radials.

We discussed this "a few pages ago", I mean the AR400 compared to the G62. I think, if the G62 with the stock muffler will work, then the AR400 seem to work too, the revs produced by both engines with the same prop are nearly the same. If the corsair needs a G62 with resonance pipe exhaust, may be the AR400 will not work. The OS is too small, I'm sure, the bird would fly, but not as a WW2 fighter should do.

I asked the question because I am sticking a ar 400 in my Zirolli Skyraider . The TF Corsair will fly off of a us41 very scale like with some power to spare, the ar is just under a G62 in power so if it fits the cowl, use it in the Corsair.......let us know how it goes.
