Thanks for the info on the Seidel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is on it's way to Canada...
Anyone know if it comes with a glow driver, or for that matter if it has any accessories with it or available for it? An exhaust ring would be great too...

It does not come with a glow driver.
I was looking at the specs...so its a 69.5cc motor. So not much bigger then the ASP 400 5 cyl at 65cc. However, what I did note was the rpm difference. The ASP 400 specs list up to 9000rpms while the seidel lists 6000. Thats a big difference if accurate. However, the seidel can spin a larger prop.....at 26x8 comapred to a 22x8 of the ASP. Might be good with a 22x12 then on the seidel to get some speed????

I just sent an e-mail to Seidel to get some answers about the Seidel-UMS 7-70 radial engine...
If anyone can help out, please chime in...
Here is the e-mail I just sent...
UMS-70
Seidel-UMS Seven Cylinder Glow plug Radial Engine
Good day Mr. Seidel,
Please excuse any grammatical errors in the following e-mail. I have used a Microsoft language translator to convert it from English to German.
The reason for this letter is because I have just purchased one of your engines from Hobby King and I have several questions.
1. I was wondering if you have a collector type exhaust system available, or if you might know of one that is available?
2. Is there any recommended oil or lubrication for the rocker arms, pushrods and valves, as they are not enclosed?
3. Which glow driver do you recommend?
4. Is the engine covered by a warranty and can spare parts be purchased for it?
I thank you for your time and wish you the best.
Sincerely,
UMS-70
Seidel-UMS sieben Zylinder Glow Plug Radial-Engine
Guten Tag Herr Seidel

I have just recived today my ST 7-70 from seidel directly, ( after 3 months waiting!!). Great looking engine. Hope it works fine. I´m going to use this DC-DC converter for the glowplugs, ( 12 V to 1,4 V 30 amp max)
http://cgi.ebay.es/CONVERTER-DC-DC-1...#ht_3524wt_960
I have tried it with the seven plugs, and it gives an steady 22-23 amps with no problem, from a 3S lipo, ( than only draws about 3,5 amps).
Some pics of the "home made" glow driver
Regards.

Felix,
Does the engine come with anything other than the basic engine (glow plugs, tool kit, manual, exhaust pipes and collector, etc
? (pictures would be great). Is it the UMS 7-70 made in India?

Anybody hear back from SLEngines??? I havent.

I could be wrong, but I think that I read somewhere that the owner of SLEngines is going to introduce one or two new engines (a 7 cylinder and a 9 cylinder) at the upcoming "Verona model expo" (march 6th and 7th). It could be that he's quite busy with the final preparation for the event.
