OS 15 CV fan jet version
I recently acquired a new OS 15CV fanjet engine with the pull starter. I want to convert it to a normal aircraft configuration. Before I do, does anyone know whether the performance or port timing is different between the two versions?
I intend to use it for sport flying using larger props rather than racing with smaller props.

RE: OS 15 CV fan jet version
Your O.S. Max .15 CV-DF engine is ported for the high-RPM use ducted fans require. It won't run well at all if you prop it for lower RPM. To convert it to regular airplane use, you'll have to replace at least the piston/cylinder assembly, which would then give you the porting of a regular aircraft engine.

These parts can be ordered through any hobby retailer who sells O.S. Max engines and accessories.
