If you are referring to the 3-flex pipe set-up, the Keleo might be the better bargain in the long run.

The flex pipes are prone to breaking if not securely mounted. Any flex pipe that extends more than fraction of an inch is likely to break off.

They also have a reputation for reducing power output but I can’t speak from personal experience..

If you haven’t received the flex pipes yet you might consider cancelling the order.

Thanks for the advice. power is not an issue in my case cause it will be largely overpowered in this corsair and if i encounter that problem i will go for a higher nitro percentage. one of the cool side of saito...

Frank Bowman makes rings for the FA56. Here is a link for a post W/contact information & product list.

Make sure that you secure the flex pipes near the ends & they must not have any tension on them. They should lay in or very near the secured position before the mounts are tightened.

Thanks for reminding me! although the instructions in the Saito manual are very clear on that matter.
Planning on upgrading to a ch Ignition next winter. Adrian Suggested that i should go through a few gallons of Glow before switching to gas.

Re flex pipes, Christian Traders (No comments please) here in Oz manufacture a good line of flexible custom made to order. From what I have seen (limited) they appear to stand the test of time and arrival incidents (one point landings aka crashes) with little or no defects. Probably worth considering.

I did a "limited" fix, hope you don't mind.

Ktm(motorcycles?)frank i use a keleo ring exhaust on my 200r3.It's much more compact than having three separate tubes and sounds just as good.Keep in mind that if you up the nitro content you need to run the engine richer and carry more fuel for the same flight times, good luck with it.

As far as a ring for the Saito 56, they're still in stock at HH. Just look for Part Number SAI6509. Is there any benefit to get a custom order piston ring for the 56??

In a Saito with the ring worn enough to consider replacement should consider replacing the piston also as in a Saito, the piston is a bigger part of the seal than in other brand ringed engines.

Also a Bowman ring has a closer end gap than a OEM Saito ring.

Thanks for that info, Jim. Without belaboring the point, does that closer end gap make that much of a difference to warrant the 3rd part ring? I'd heard he makes a good product.

Well, The Saito ring works well enough but 3/4 of the time Horizon is out of stock.

I got three 56's and they will still run good with a worn ring but they start getting mighty juicy. If you don't mind a oily plane, it makes no difference.

old fart I am thinking about getting a "Dragon Program" that way when I curse this thing it understands me. Likewise when I want to send "messages" all I have to do is talk to it. Now I am almost "human again" after all the crap over my shoulder I realise that my computer is loaded with "anti intrusion software" and when it is starting up all sorts of crap happens. Just got to be patient with it or spend money to up grade to something that will be released next week.
On a more serious note my Storch, I was going to run a FG 20 in it what size normal 4 stroke would be the equivalent. It is supposed to come out at around 12 pounds. It is the ESM one Ausstars was selling. I was thinking 115 to 125 may be.

Translation 'dragon' here means..long term partner/wifey/handbrake/she who must be obeyed etc.

fnq at that weight and being a stol a/c you could put the 82 glow in easy.If at 12 pounds and aerobatic i go for 100 to 125...should i ask if you'll be needing a special muffler for that?

Well, the Bowman ring is $10 compared to $16 from HH.

You can't price FA-56 parts at some of the other privately owned sites that offer better prices right now. Probably due to the changeover from the FA-56 to FA-56B.

I noticed that a the price of a new 91 is the same as what I paid for a new 125 when they first came out.

That doesn't seem to apply to Advantage Hobby. SAI6509 is $12.06 form Advantage, $15.68 @ HH.

I seldom buy fron HH. Advantage is cheaper & you only need $50 for free shipping.

I did just buy the last two FG84 pistons from HH for $11.75 ea though, but I think that was a pricing error! Too bad they didn't have 3!

I had forgotten about using FA-65 rings until W8YE also pointed that out too. I use Advantage for most all parts if they have them.
