Acdii
did you say you see saito in that engine? It looks like an os to me. Or am I looking at the wrong one?

I got your Poodle right here:

A buddy of mine back in the day had one of the late 90s Power Stroke Diesels in a F350 Super Duty crew cab with an 8 foot bed it was one sweet truck! He pulled a tandem axle trailer with his race car, 3 sets of spare tires, huge toolbox. Several of his friends in the car club had Cevys with gasoline engines. They would go down to the Texas Speedway to rade for the weekend and on the way back when they hit the Arbuckle Moiuntains the gas burners would bog down and fall behind. His diesel wouldn't even lug!

I had an early 99, the 98.5, F350 Dually, Crew Cab, 8' bed, 7.3 Powerstroke. It was a beast. The reason I got rid of it was after 10 years it needed more repairs than it was worth. Engine was still strong, but the trans was shot, and rust has reared its ugly head from dumbass me not washing it after driving through snow and parking it in the garage. If it weren't for the high cost of diesel, and $80 oil changes, I would have kept it and repaired it.

Looking back, it was paid for, and had I kept it, I could have bought a REALLY nice 5th wheel travel trailer.

My brother in western Pa. has a 1997 250 7.3 with 285,00 miles on it. It is one of the few they made with 3.55 gears. So far it's only needed injector O-rings at about 270,000.

It's too wet and cold to run the Saito .56 I bought from w8ye, it will happen though.

On the one I had, it needed a water pump, glow plug relay, and glow plugs. That was about all the maintenance I needed to do to it for the 130K miles I used it for. Would have driven it much more had diesel not gone to $5 a gallon.

Old Fart- you seem to have missed a couple of snide remarks aimed your way by me. I'm getting worried about you letting a few of us off the hook. I haven't had a good laugh at the Pope's expense in weeks. (it's my job to notice these things)

I just bought a DuBro spinner nut and a Higley lock nut, the DuBro Spinner Nut is labled 7mm, however it is a actually an 8mm and fits my Saito 1.50 but almost slides onto the Saito .56. I wonder how often that has happened. Maybe some of you have had it happen. The Higley LockLite is a smooth precise fit on the .56 crank.

No it's just that i've been divorced for years and unused to hearing them now and i think it's time we had a survey on what people use to log in here..is it a handheld device or a big screen and keyboard?? which is what i use...reason i mention that is if you get someone like pope begging to get back on thread, and it sounds so funny you have a belly laugh and smash your face forwards into the keyboard, there should be a penalty of some kind,or you as a moderater should give some warning to us faithful but innocent readers.Pope you've lost the right to that name here, from now on you'll be billy bob from bad santa

What can we say? The Pope is like that crazy uncle your parents kept hidden away in the attic, every family has one so does every forum.

I had a similar problem with a DLE. Incorrectly packaged nut like the one on the bottom.

Just like that TV channel: "Always On, Slightly Off"

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, whatever jingles your bells.

In his defense he does have good taste in engines for the most part and it would be a little boring without him. The Pope and O.F. both inject a certain amount of comic relief, like the guy on the city bus arguing with the voices in his head.

Well, they do come by it naturally though, think about it, they are upside down! Their drains spin backwards too.
