Where's the vent now? On my FG-11 it is located under the cam area, and I ran it inverted in my T-clips with the scavenging system I described. Seeing oil in the line is a good indication that the cam box is getting lubed, but the top end doesn't get oil from the bottom, it gets it from the top.

What do you guys think would be the best location?
I would tell you where they work well for me, but it isn't worth the BS that ensues

Used scavenging to good advantage. Only works for oiling when used for drawing oil thru, not away from the area in need.

Ok, so ALL of the oil I'm finding in rocker covers comes by way of the valve stem clearances? None of the oil from the tappet area propagates up the outer surfaces of the pushrods in a vertically mounted engine? I kinda figured with all that jiggling some oil would climb up to the rockers.

Nice, glad it's running good for you. Looks like it's producing about the same power as an FA56. Not bad considering you can fly it all day on 8 oz. of fuel.

How low will it idle with that prop?

I have been packing the rocker boxes on Saito uprights with Bel-Ray grease for years now. Not suggesting anyone else do it, I just do it because it is wrong.
Just like the 14% oil. It forces me to add 2% castor AKA 3 hour epoxy. Just plain wrong.

Best reason I can think of to do it.

.......Grease and castor, oh my. Don't you know you're going to fuse all the moving parts together?

the Saito 100 Ti is setup to be mounted upside down and the breather is mounted on it's right side of the cam when upside down, that is where I put mine

here is a video of the Saito 100Ti popping bubbles, it sounds great. I find it interesting that it only has one breather. I wonder if there has been any reports of it not receiving oil to the rear cam

edit>> the site is not excepting the You Tube link

Not a lot of them out there to get a good consensus. Plenty of case turbulence anyhow.

The gasper carbs with the FG-20 are early.

The FG with methanol and glow carb. Runs great!
Sounds nice too.

Thanks Jim, that's one of the vent locations I was considering. There or on the bottom of the case.

Gary, many people sent their fg20's back to HH for free upgrades to the same carb that was later used on the fg21's. I was interested in getting it, thus the question. Doesn't matter now, erieqc jumped in there and claimed it. I hope it works out well for him.

So the new FAA Proposal has hit the news. I really wish the AMA worked harder to distinguish the differences between our model aircraft, flown at an AMA sanctioned field at line of sight vs the true "drone" which are the multirotors and the like that can be flown beyond line of sight. An exemption for our LOS planes should be added, but only those flown at official AMA fields.
