Not too far off Jim. The 100 is an exceptional engine and although rated at 1.8hp it makes closer to 1.9 hp. Mine tested at 9450 with an Apc 14x8. That's 1.867 hp. Strong engines.

there is one guy getting 9,400 and another getting 9,200 with there 100 with the APC 14x8. those are exceptional numbers. I am wondering if some Saito employee went rouge and passed threw a few Saito 100s with a little extra compression, or maybe a bit more duration on the cams LOL

Returning to glow-powered kits that I build, after a long hiatus, I bought a Saito 40 a couple of months ago for my SIG Cub. Earlier this week, I got a Saito 62 for the Somethin' Extra that I am currently building, and I will be breaking it in either tomorrow or Monday, after my prop reamer arrives. The only thing that currently bugs me about Saitos is that some prop shafts are US (the 40 - 1/4-28), and some are metric (the 62 - 7mm, I believe). I would think they would all be the same units.
Many years ago, I had a Saito 100 and 72.
I am extremely partial to 4-strokes, and doubt I will be buying any 2-strokes for future models that I build. I'm the same way with motorcycle engines.

ps i hope the builder and or pilot remembered the old trick of stashing a huge garbage bag behind the cockpit in the fuse, it makes it easier to carry the electric motor and house brick size battery packs back to the pits. If it had a 125 in it you could just leave it there.

The little FA 30 is also 1/4" x 28 tpi, which comes in pretty handy for 10",props. 6mm props and nuts are difficult to find.
FA 30 with Graupner Grey 10 x 5.5.

Jim, seanychen and w8ye are great guys, you can trust their numbers. Their numbers could be used the standard for others.

Mike! stop stealing my jokes
but seriously, it is always a shame to see a nice model lost through pee poor piloting skills. it would have sounded far better with an fa125 in it

A used FA125GK just sold on rcg for $265. It amazes me what people will pay for black powder coat!

I'll bet if it were pink with those gold rocker covers they could have got $285!

I may build a Uravich OV-10 Bronco next, and was thinking of putting Saito 30's on it.

I did a review of Lincoln 61 engine many years ago for FuelMan of Cooper Fuels.

This is not the one I reviewed, but identical sans the dirt. It was uncannily smooth running, an ASP by any other name.

I have a .40 size Goldberg Tiger II airframe to be covered in orange and white covering With Hobbs crouching to pounce on each side. I wonder how it would look powered by an orange Saito?
