My best guess is cost of production or a lack of demand prevented its release.

IIRC, Enya offered several 2 stroke/cycle engines that were fitted with chromed aluminum sleeves.

I had a standing order for the Super Tigre 4 stroke/cycle at the LHS. They never came to fruition.
Probably just as well they did not

What kind of numbers did the Webra super charged T-4 87 put out? I'm green with envy you have it! Then again would you want to run such a rare engine?

Howdy dave that webra fourstroke engine looks interesting, was it you years ago who posted pics of a conley?? rc fourstroke engine with belt driven twin overhead cams, beautiful looking engine.
lonnie thanks for the webra article, and being a ducati nut i like the bevel drive webra, i wonder if it's like an old ducati 750/900 bevel drive engine and you need someone who really knows how to shim them.

pps mike don't stress, gary is a long time moto guzzi owner and his pain threshold is high on the plus side he did own an old bsa rocket three with the ray gun mufflers and man do they sound sweeeet!

My T-4 was the non super charged version and had out put with a 14 x 6 at 8,750, very similar to other 90 sized engines.

My first riding buddy had a Ducati 200 single, the valve train sound was unique.


The Conley had buckets and shims similar to your Ducati.

Back on a Saito topic I have a question for the group. I plumbed Pinky Saito's fuel tank this pass weekend and started installing a DuBro throttle cable. As you know this airframe came second hand so it was set up for a different engine. The throttle cable placement was already drilled so I spun the carb around to put the throttle arm on the left side. Bless those Saito engineers for that feature! The engine sits upright almost against the firewall in the back and from the mounting lugs down is pretty closed off. Crankcase will vent out the bottom of the compartment.

My question is with such and enclosed engine compartment is there anything to gain by installing a velocity stack and should I open it up a bit to let the engine breath a bit?

Assuming there is no cowl, no need to open anything up, there's plenty of air for cooling and carb intake even if the carb is against the firewall. A properly sized velocity stack will increase fuel economy and help keep your firewall/plane cleaner without robbing top end power.

As you can see cooling won't be a problem. I am planning on using a spinner I have a Goldberg white but I may see if I can find a red spinner instead. Short of painting one I don't think I'll ever find one in pink.

The pink panther was always at the top of his game. Maybe some racing numbers on Pinky would be a nice touch?

I had Callie make some graphics already the paw print logo for the side of the fuselage behind the cockpit, Pinky's head for the top of the wing, the black logo for the bottom (so I can tell if I'm inverted, "Think Pink!" for the front side of the fuselage, a red Cub style lightening bolt for the length of the fuselage and finally a Pink N' Poke to match the GP Pete N' Poke decal in red for the vertical fin which will be covered in 1/2" red/white checkerboard like the rudder. Depending on how far I can stretch my covering I may have to go with checkerboard on the elevator too. I need to place a second decal order I was going to add the crew names to the side and I forgot to have the second head decal flipped so they face opposite. My mistake not hers. S rsaving number might look sporty but what number would PP pick??

Never had a Conely but I did have the Webra spooler an one of the Brit-made "Condor" engines.
Had the Condor in big Fokker DVII. But not for long! The Lasers actually remind me a lot of the bar-stock Condor "brick with a prop".

Cool looking engine! I have heard a lot of good things about the Lasers but they are little out of my price range. I was also curious about the RCV inline piston engines like the 90-SP or 120-SP have you ever had one of those?

Mike, at one time I had a 90-SP and a 58 CD. I never liked the SP but the CD was great, very low height since it didn't have rocker arms.

I had the 58 CD in a Kombat 40 with the 60" wing option.


Like this but with the 58 CD, Laser 70 shown.

The Laser looks good on it! I don't recall ever reading an discouraging remarks about Laser except for the cost. I suspect the degree of machining is responsible for that. What didn't you like the 90-SP?

It was long and heavy, and finding a happy set up using a prop at half speed was troubling also.

The Lasers are very smooth running.
I just installed new bearings in a Saito 120 block I inherited from Gary, I am waiting on a new back plate, I was short one back plate.
