Some men have a foot fetish, at least your fetish is something we can all relate to

At those prices, foot fetish is a viable alternative for some fellows.

When I was younger and in the service you bought them as a package deal, came with a few extras too.

MacGregors just did me a kindness, I had ordered several parts for the Saito 115 in two orders, I let myself get too rushy rushy. They combined them and refunded one shipping/carriage, charge.

The intake valve was leaking in spite of my testing.

What method do you use to check for valve leaks before reassembling the engine?

Corrosion X in the intake port, lots of hissing and bubbling action I broke two screw drivers trying to get the rocker pin out.

I stopped breaking my Chapman gunsmithing bits when I started using more heat on these pesky rocker pins. With enough heat they don't even feel tight.

I use a "MityVac" hand pump for checking valve seating, works great. Darn handy tool to have around the shop. It will provide low psi pressure as well.

Pressurize the cylinder side with soapy water in the port. You can easily see even the slightest leakage. Same principle used for inspecting check valves , threaded connections on pressurized gas systems etc.; Hence the term "Zero Bubble".

You not only know about the leak, you can easily see the source.

I mostly use the old hand vac pump gor bleeding brakes on mo******les. Also for checking the cracking pressure on Holley power valves, two stroke case seals etc.
As you can see, hasn't been used in quite a while.
The Gast electric pump is here for the bigger jobs.

Hey Dave, you know I would love to buy one of those HP49's, but for 1/2 it's size it's price is all-most the same as a FA100

Well Jim, great minds be in tune, at 2:00 PM today I ordered the 25 with the bushing rotary valve. I figured that with the superior Wildcat lube package it will live well without extra expense.

Congrats Dave. Considering Wildcat and their zooperior lube package have joined the extinct; it should last nearly forever
Didn't Wildkitty fuel use Klotz?

I will tell you Dave, I bet when you get that little guy he will turn very smoo-th. Randy told me, unlike the old days he does not remove the engine case's from their jigs when boring the front and rear bearing cups. he said he get's a straighter Line Bore this way.

They certainly are nice looking engines . Our club back in the day those were out had over 300 members. I only recall one fellow running one. It was a very nice machine. Just never caught on here.

Jim.

Hopefully properly torqued too. You know I'll have to try a Graupner 10 x 5 like on the Saito 30's. Prop Size 8x5; 8x6; 9x5; 10x4

That depends on the fixtures that are used. ( How the casting is located and clamped in place.
Production fixtures often use De-Sta-Co type swing clamps. No telling but they may be locating on the cylinder bore rather than the fairly unsteady mounting lugs.

Thanks for the help guys on the saito 60t a little while ago. I happen to be browsing the net yesterday and found a new cam for my 60t!!! Looks like I am back in business. Now just need to add some exhaust and the Cessna 310 will be done.

Well, back from our mini weekend vacation in our new trailer, I did good buying this one, works out almost perfectly. One more TV for our bedroom and it will be perfect. The parts I ordered last week came in while we were gone, and aside from a bit of wiring, I should be ready to try to fire the 120R3 up again.

Doesn't take much room at all, and works with a light weight Life battery. Will help with balancing the plane since I can locate the battery where ever it is needed. The module itself is only .6 of an ounce.
