Mike you sneaky devil, i knew you couldn't resist hiring one of those racing wheelchairs with carbon fibre wheels and custom racing rubber! you've run alice over right?

Dave just noticed someone has whipped my junior member tag off the avatar so i've had to console myself with a few cans of aussie brand emu export cans...

I think that happens automatically, have you tried to run an engine on that Emu stuff, if it's believable, lore has it that cars have been run on our moonshine. A Saito running on shine would save me some money. I have the 100 GK all set up to run with an APC 15 x 6 and a Xoar 15 x 6.

I have misplaced two 56's, no time to look today, I've got about a half ton of wood to split today. Mike, maybe you could come and help me, it would do you good and help you too.

Nothing quite as fun Pete, Alice has cancer of the Uterus and they are doing a hysterectomy this morning. We are hoping the cancer hasn't spread and they get it all. Still I appreciate you injecting a bit of humor into the situation. Laughter is the best medicine!

While slowly go bat$!tt crazy waiting for the phone to ring with an update from the hospital I took a few pictures. I'm a little shaky so there are a lot of wrinkles to be ironed out. That said here is a look at Pinky Saito's new home. I will finish the pink on the fuselage then do the ailerons and horizontal stab and elevator before finishing up with the red/white checkerboard on the vertical stab and rudder.

Prayers from here too.

Pinky is coming along, I am out of play time today, I got the big heavy pieces split. In 2,000my wife had an arm operation scheduled for three months in advance, I flunked a stress test that very morning, had a heart attack on the tread mill. We were on an operating table at the same time. They asked her if she wanted to cancel, I told her to go for it. The whole Hospital was talking about the Hobbs couple both being in surgery. I too was shaky for a few days after receiving a stent..

Red Max fuel: I just received this in response to a question. I'll just order their standard 10% fuel, the Saitos won't care.

to me

Size: 43 BytesAll of our fuel is full synthetic unless you specifically request castor.
The website doesn’t have a section for 4cy, but if you let us know we will make 4cy fuel for you.
If your 4cy engine is from 1995 or earlier it uses 15% oil
If your 4cy engine was made after 1995 it uses 20% oil (the same fuel as 2cy engines)
Just let me know what you want and I’ll make it. The price is the same on both 2cy and 4cy.

The part number for the fa50/fa100T piston ring is sai5009. Looks like everyone will have them back in stock this month.

Gary, the prop hub and wrench showed up today, thank you!

I finish off the front turtleback today but was all played out. The results are so-so. I decided to sit Pinky Saito and turned my back and look who showed up.

Great,

I certainly hope you do actually use it. Not an easy thing to make in a home shop , especially the wrench. That is the last of it. There is about 16 hours spent on that setup. The last one I made went to a local who had "the perfect plane" I saw that very special nut a few months ago on a trainer owned by some other fellow. He sold the engine and just left the nut on it. Of course he "lost" the wrench so the nut was all scarred from visegrip pliers,

That was when I decided to get rid of the entire machine shop and never again make a special part.

I was thinking of putting it on the Cub but I plan to donate it my son's CAP squadron for display, so instead I will reserve it for the Sopwith Baby kit I have.

Gary, I thought a little preview was in order. This photo is just for you. I'm sorry it isn't located further out yet, I need to trim the dummy engine to clear the Saito .80.

Dave people running cars on moonshine i can believe, i've heard that way back during the war people ran cars on kerosene.

Mike the first pink panther movie was made in 1963 which would make that cat 57 years old, he's entitled to a few wrinkles.

Mike in OKC, Pinky is coming along nicely and that's a LOT of pink! Hopefully Alice is coming along too?

I'm blowing off work this afternoon due to near perfect flying weather. My P-47/FA180 is getting its final CG trimming, tuning and a good workout. Scale top speed would be 58 mph, hoping to get close to that with an APC 16x8 once tuned. Not sure it'll get there, the airframe is a drag-a-saurus.

Thank you I appreciate that! WE find out in two weeks if they got all the cancer.

I almost feel guilty taking a dremel tool to the dummy engine it came out so pretty. The bad new is its a one off. I saw a picture of it and contacted the maker to see if he would sell me one. Turns out he has no plans to make another and didn't know what to do with one he had so he sent it to me. The hub will be the crowning detail for it.
