There is just something about the sound of a finely tuned well run Saito. No other can compare to it. My run up area is finally cleared of snow, so when I finish the GS Corsair parts I will finish up my 60 Corsair and see how those pipes sound. Supposed to be in the 50's soon, hope to have it done by then. Canopy and ailerons are all that is left, but have to find a pilot first. I don't think Garfield will fit though.

It can't find the package.

Getting a shipment of methanol. Ten gallons coming at $4.50 gallon that are not yet spoken for. Let me know if you want 5 or 10 gallons and I will hold them for you.

Did you order it online, or a local fuel supplier? I still have a case of fuel to burn, but when it's gone, I would like to mix my own, but can't find any local shops carrying methanol.

What is your nearest big city? I will check.

I buy from a few different local sources. My favorite will deliver to my door if he has another delivery in the area.

Not always the cheapest but they are often close by and usually reasonable.

When I lived in your area there was a shop in Freeport that sold methanol. I think it was on Spring St.

Freeport Illinois is just south of Monroe Wisconsin on I-28 and about 25 miles west of Rockford Illinois on I-20. The place I bought methanol from was a block from the downtown Honeywell plant on Spring Street. I can not remember the name of the place but they did a lot a race car stuff for the guys that ran on the track south of town. Do some web search to see if it in still there and call them to see if they still sell methanol. If I can remember the name of the place I will PM you.

The wife is in Kansas this week so I commandeered the den to setup a tale and start a new project. She'll have a 84.5" wingspan when done.

I received the Saito 80 today, the guy should have sold as, near new, it has a K & an M on the right lug. It has a bushed rod, both ends,

and bronze valve seats. Compression unknown, it sure is clean, the rear bearings sparkle.

Thanks! But the wife had her trip cut short so I had to vacate the table from the den. RATS! Next I will need figure out some way to keep going. I'll probably break out the card table again when I have time to work on it. The wing being single piece makes it a bit more challenging. I may start laminating a building crutch for the fuselage. I just need to cut the strips for it.

No sir, it has the counter sunk piston so I'll have to remain clueless as to the compression ratio. The engine is really smooth turning It will be a few days before I can run it. I have an operation tomorrow to implant tiny gold spheres in my prostate to serve as targets for the Radiologist. I'll be knocked out for about one hour and then a sleepy ride home. Oh joy.
