Merry Christmas guys.

It has been great flying weather here in Texas for the last two days. I’ve been flying a trainer with a Saito 45 modified with a 50 cam. It’s not quite as strong as the 45 Special but stronger than the standard FA45.

I hope everyone here gets a new Saito from Santa 😊

Pete,

Good on ya! Those older Saitos are real charmers. That 45S is the Crown Jewel!

I am still waiting on an old YS that I was supposed to get

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all, I am back home from being out of town, 100 miles north west of here in Ashburn. We had a great Holiday, Geri wants to buy me a Saito for a late gift, I'm wracking my brain, I'll let you know what I work out. A 100 is in the forefront.

Good trip then! Another Christmas has come and gone.
I have a well cleaned 100 here with fresh bearings and a new Saito ring. Looks and runs great. I was going to list it on RCG, let me know if you are interested.

LOL did you guys see this, wondering if it's off a 91 drove me a bit nuts when I saw it yesterday LOL

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...-%28I-think%29

but after looking at my 91 I can see it's not a 91 part. maybe some one here can use it.

Jim

Hyjinx,
That black collar is just a ring to permit snugging up the prop nut a bit during storage.

Jim,
That cylinder is from a 120 or larger. Note the rocker pivot stands are the bolt kon type. The small singles dont have threaded intake ports either.

Happy New Year ya'all!

Knowing you Gary. Figgerd it may have been thread protection for shipping. Lol Anybody using ceramic bearings in our Saitos? One of my 150s pooped the other day and I am thinking of going high dollar and putting full ceramics in as a rust test. I don't usually do aro between sessions with daily flyers.
Don't see any real heavy rust in motors I have needed to tear down over it. But any size rust is obviously abrasive, heavy scale to light discoloration.
Just wondering as usual....

Can't say I blame you!

A whole lot of hopeful thinking getting in the way.
You really want it to be a 91 cylinder.....

Part of the Christmas package from Gary was this Como .40, the carb lacked the long, threaded high speed needle, I happen to have a Kavan carb, it has a 13 mm neck, the Como carb hole is 14 mm. I made a 1 mm sleeve to adapt the Kavan. I made the sleeve on the first try. The Kavan looks like it belongs on there. Even though it's a baffled engine it has PD ports.

Was that the same carb Enya used? It looks familiar.

I think that Enya made their own, I got the Kavan's from MECOA, they still have a few.

Dave
If you want the original Super Tigre needle that is missing from your carb I have some very old new in the package needle valves. I would be glad to send you one.

I would appreciate that a bunch, I had four of them at one time, made by Harry Higley I think. Like you are doing, I spread them around the Country to help people out. If you need any ST parts, I have a few. Thanks.
