Lots of good info there! Again! Thanks, man.
You wouldn't happen to have a .91 to strap on your 'dyno' would ya?
It appears you have quite a selection of propellers, too. Life is good!

Mike, w8ye now owns the only .91 I ever had. I don't think he has started it up yet. I buy nearly all my hobby stuff from Apex Hobbies in Tazewell, Va., a lot of guys drive there from Ky., Tenn. and W.Va, would you happen to be one of them? Thanks
Jim, I sure hope my TNC doesn't lie.

I have Hobbsy's 91 and I also have a 12mm Turboheader. I don't remember having a 14 X 7 three blade though. It could be run easily.

Colonial Beach sounds like a long way from Tazwell. Must be a pretty great hobby shop.
It's about 3.5 hours away from Ashland, I'd guess.
I cannot imagine the .91 turning a 14x7 3 blade. But I'd be happy if it can. P-40's need 3 blades, the larger the better! I'd figured on either the 13x8 or 12x8.
My 125 has so much power, that I'm considering putting the velocity stack and air filter back on it. It can afford the few hundred RPM easily. (Starting to get tired of the mess inside my cowl)
I am wondering if the .91 can benefit from removing the stack. In a perfect world, Hobbsy would have 1 of every Saito and stay up all night gather data for the less fortunate!

Dave for the benefit of others, what is a yellow jacket, serious as it sounds.
The handbrake has flown east for two weeks and left me unsupervised on a scotch ration of a bottle a day..how harmless can that be?
I've got to find a prop extension nut for the 82 so the aluminium ext nut for the spinner will fit.Any ideas before i get the grinder out and lose some fingers?

O.F.,
Don't know how far you are from the rest-of-the-world. However, if you can access one of these: http://members.aol.com/harryhig/EngineAccessories1.htm (look at the prop-locks), you will find they work very well.
The prop-lock goes on first and acts as a nut and prop washer. The spinner adapter nut follows and serves as the spinner adapter and lock-nut. These have worked very well on several Saitos for me. In one case the tip of the adapter nut had to be filed just a bit to fit.

Check out the Yellow Jackets, Common Wasps, and Jaspers the name depending on where you live. We are outdoors when flying and need to be aware of these.

I hate yellow jackets!!!!!!! I got into a nest of them a few years back with a weed eater and got stung 5 times. Whenever I find a yellow jacket nest it's a couple of ounces of gasoline down the hole at night.

and only once.
Poured the gas down the hole, dropped the match down the hole,
and still have a bald spot on my leg
from the lick of flame that shot OUT of the hole..........
And then there was the time we discovered Yellow jackets had built a huge nest inside the wall of our house...........
we discovered them when they finally ate thru the last little bit of sheetrock between them and our kitchen.
well actually, my English Springer Seamus discovered them......
Yup that was fun............
Ever seen a dog do "the worm" on the floor?
Oh yeah and then there was the time the guy that was SUPPOSED to install
cable in my house ,who was almost 20 feet in the air on a ladder,
nailed a cable strap right into the nest some yellow jackets made in the wall shingles of the attic.
As my wife put it............
"first I heard a bang ..............."
"then I heard the thud........."
the best part of it was, when the guy hit the ground, mind you with proabably 5- 6 stings to his face
the superivising installer that was on the ground looked down at him and asked..........
"hey buddy, you ever been stung before? You look like your swellin' up.
You know you could DIE if your allergic?"
We couldn't get another crew back out to finish the job for 3 weeks...................

I only found one nest by accident. I was out cutting would and kept getting some kind of pickers through my glove. After I got one between my fingers I looked down and seen a bunch of those little buggers on the ground. I had a back hoe at the time so they had a little un-earthy experience to say the least.

Guys:
Does anyone know if I can use a FA-65 muffler on a FA-100 engine? I have a Saito FA-100 and just wasted the exhaust manifold and muffler. In mid-flight the manifold broke and fell from the sky with the muffler, destroying both. I have an exhaust manifold and muffler from a Saito FA-65 that fits the FA-100. While the FA-65 manifold is just right for my FA-100, the muffler appears to be a little smaller than the original FA-100 muffler. Can I use this muffler on the FA-100? My concern is potential back pressure. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Capt Lou,
Going down in muffler size may not provide adequate flow and will increase the back pressure. You would just have to try it to see how it performs. If the .65 muffler chamber is at least .450 CI in volume you should be okay.

w8ye,
The smaller outlet will increase the back pressure. Lowering the volume some will not cause a problem if you have the flow. It is the balance that is the problem.

Hey everyone,
I have a Saito 91 GK that I installed on an Extra 300S. Today I went up for about the 3rd or 4th flight ever and noticed something wasn't right. It seemed to be moving back and forth as if the ailerons were jumping. Previous flights had been on windy days so i figured it was just the wind bumping it around. I landed without any issues and put it on a stand and started it back up. Sure enough, when i go to full power the ailerons jitter back and forth. Anyone know what could cause this. It only happens at full throttle. I am using a 2.4 ghz radio. I have heard that a metal clevis on a metal throttle can cause interference. I have this setup and I am going to change it but don't think it will help. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Dan

You could twist all your servo wires to prevent RFI problems as well as eliminate all the metal to metal vibration points
You could also move your 2.4 antenna wire around to a different angle
