Well I just finished adjusting the low speed idle. It was a half turn too rich. The engine just purrrrrsss now. What a difference. Once I got the idle fixed I had to lean out the high speed jet because it became too rich and would shut down if I pushed the throttle down too fast. Such a difference. At the same time I had installed a brand new external glow switch na dfound that it too was not working. I have never had so many problems with a new plane. Hopefully this is the end and on Saturday I will have an uneventfull day with just perfect flying conditions and no crashes,

Kevin, lets hope that everything works out for you on Saturday.
Sounds like in your search for the problem, your awareness has increased tremendously and you will have a good day

I am sure it will. Buying things from EBay can be testing. Even though they were all new I am amazed how much people play with their toys even though they do not use them.

My .91 is turning a MA 13x8 3-blade at 10K RPM. I thought it sounded pretty high, but never bothered to tach it until today.
I put the MA 14x7 3-blade on and it turned 9K RPM. It's crazy. I reckon the turbo header has a lot to do with it. And it was only 70ºF today. Still, I am very impressed.

I am moving up the saito ranks..lol. I just got a 100 to add to my collection. Now that makes a 100, 82, and a few other brand 4 strokes.

Can someone tell me the difference in the saito 90 flat twin and the 100 regular twin besides the size? Why does the flat look like an os? I am going to put one of them in a cub I have in the box

I believe the carb set up is differant and the rocker covers you'll gain a touch more power with the 100 but will have a more sacel look with the 90 what size is the cub

My Feedback: (16)

The 90TS has a single twin needle carb and there is a single cam like in a automobile engine
The 100T has two single cylinder cams on different sides of the engine. It also has two air bleed carbs that are made together
Actually either engine is easy to tune.
With the two carbs, you just peak each one

W 8 u seem to know your stuff I am running 30% byron in a 150 had the motor a little lean and was getting quite a pinging noise i fatten her up gained 1000 rpm (16 x 8 apc) runs great am i wasting cash on the 30%

My Feedback: (16)

If you need the power for 3D, you are not wasting your money
A sport flyer would be wasting his money
The Saitos run good on 30% and it doesn't hurt them as long as your mixture is correct but it sure hurts your pocket.

Here is my P-38 with (2) 100s on it. Turn you volume up

I also have (2) 91s and a 72, all in planes that fly regularly, and all but one 91 is inverted. None have or need on board glow.
Adjust them properly, tighten the muffler when the engine is at operating temp, and you don't have any worries with Saito.

I've been flying Saitos since the early 90's..... Funny, I've been a Waco Brotherhood member but can't recall asking to be a Saito club member....Anybody know if I ever applied? I used to be called Mainer_Jim....before I moved to Texas.... The ol' memory isn't what it used to be....
Well, if nobody recalls whether I ever asked to be one, then immediately following that I guess the logical next step would be to ask if I could be a member!
Thanks guys,
Jim
