Hey dave i thought you could buy taipan plugs over there. They are excellent, used them years ago.

From memory the rainbow kit is made by pheonix. Here you get it in see thru yellow(trailing edges) and turquois green.May sound like an odd colour scheme but they look good everyone says.Made for an electric motor but i left the box off the firewall and bolted the 30 straight to it.Couple of grams extra weight but performance is good enough for almost vertical climbs. The aeroplane handles beautifully too and will fly very slow.

Plane looks nice and the flying was good and so was the camera man. Too bad about the music. Cannot hear the engine.

Just wondering what props you guys are using for the 125? I am now running an apc 14X10 and am getting 8900rpm. It is in a GP Little Toni. I also have a 12X12 apc. I am wondering if other types of props that you guys are using are better suited for four strokes? IE: how would a MA 14X10 compare to an apc of the same size? Or what wood props are guys using, Zinger? Top Flight? I heard from a few guys that apc props work best when they are spinning faster than what four strokes are capable of and that maybe there might be better props suited for four strokes. Please help.

You are in the ball park for your engine

There are so many variables you are just going to need to try these different props and settle on the one you like most

I do a different kind of flying and like the APC 16-6

OF, these are re-badged and painted Biela's but the smallest is 16x8. They are pre-balanced and turn smoothly.

I use MA 14x10 S-2 prop. It works well on my Saito 125.
I also use MA 14x9 3-bladed prop. It works well too.

Where can we get these Biela props in the USA?

You mention putting the FG-36 into your P-51D 150. Was it difficult to do?
I am almost finished with putting the P-51D together but have not picked an engine.
In your opinion is the FG-36 pretty reliable, would you put a used one or stick getting one new to avoid purchasing someone else’s problems engine?

Thanks

As I understand it, you do not even need to own, or have owned, a Saito, just be a BELIEVER in them.

Slipping Prop:

I have a couple of 1.80s and have a problem keeping the spinner backplate (true-turn) tight against the prop driver. Do you guys use anything for friction between them?

Thanks,
Slopoke

CA two discs the size of the propdriver of 80 grit wet or dry emery paper back to back and use it as a washer between the prop and backplate. Way old trick.

Just curious do you guys use after run oil after every day you use the engine or is it more if the engine is going to sit for a long period 1+ weeks. I am currently using fuel with castor in it. Thanks

Funny I thought different. I got my number after I had purchased a Saito. Most all of the early posts are the same way. Either purchased or were purchasing a Saito. Not a big deal either way.

I've an Enya 120 R and an OS 52. I like them both along with my three Saitos. I'm just a Sunday flyer so I'm not after every ounce of power. If I were I'd be buying YS.
John

EDIT -> I forgot my 3 Magnum 91 4 strokes. I like them too.

I have come across a set of feeler gauges that start at .0015 inches (.038mm) and go up in very small increments.
What would say is the perfect valve lash for a particular engine?
Would you give the exhaust valve a hair more clearance?
