I must have led a sheltered life. In all these years, I have never once seen an oil that would "dry up". Not once.

Not in a year....not in 10 years, and certainly not in a span of only a few weeks.

Spray some of these oils that supposedly "dry up" on a window and report back when the film vanishes of it's own accord.

I suspect this "drying up" phenomenon occurs with penetrating oils that are largely solvent based liquids. It is the solvent, not the oil that goes away over time.
