How did the sleeve work out?
I have been away from the airplane side of things for a while. I hear that Supertigre has ceased production. Is that true? I know that the owner moved production to the GMS factory a number of years ago to save costs. Europe is a very expensive place to make things.

Yep, that is the one. It fits all of the 60-90 SK series. Took me a long time to find a manufacturer to make these bearings for us!

Super Tigre was still making engines I believe, but the distributor has difficulty in getting engines and parts I guess. I think the old Hobbico company ditched ST to promote their “premier” OS garbage.

Are you saying the only (two strokes)....."still in production" ?
Anyhow, AFAIK, Enya are still active.
The mighty YS (),and Saito making four strokes not sure if YS still makes two stroke.

super tiger g90
I recently picked up a .90 super tiger and noticed the carb on it is smaller bore than the .75 super tiger I have.
I think the .75 is a little newer. can anyone tell me if that sounds correct. does that .90 maybe have smaller transfer ports
than a newer .75 or maybe has the wrong carb on it?
or possibly older version just came that way?

what's it worth ??
I have an Italian made Super Tiger 90 with a big "S" on it, but no Carb, the engine is locked up, what's it worth ??
I know nothing much about Super Tiger's, so I don't even know if it's Ringed or ABC ?? so please tell me more about this engine with comparing it's power to other ST 90 engines ??
some one gave it to me as it is, I have not rebuilt it so I thought I would sell it and give the money to the guy that gave it to me.
I removed the head and the liner is dark and has normal running marks but look's as if it can be used again, but then again I can not see below the ports so I'm not sure.
like I said the Carb was not on it when it was given to me, but I have a brand new OS 3 needle Carb I can sell with it if the buyer wants to to pay the extra
thanks Guys!!

All S90s are ringed. If it’s in good serviceable shape, you might get $40 for it sans carb. If the 3-needle carb is from a Heli, don’t bother. It will not run right on an airplane engine due to being way too fat in the midrange.
The S90 is slightly more powerful than the G90, and shares some parts with the G90. Overall good solid and reliable sport engines - even with an OEM carburetor. Put a tuned muffler on them and they wake up a bit.

thanks for the info,
so the 3 needle Heli carb wont lean out enough in the mid-range, interesting! the carb I have is the OS 50 40L 3 needle carb, I suggested this carb because the guy that gave the engine to me had an OS 108 3 needle carb on it.
probably can't get the engine parts anyways
thanks again

The 7D is a different animal to a heli carb. Heli carbs are often metered rich in the midrange because of the rpm they’re operated at in relation to the load they’re under. A heli carb on an airplane engine won’t run very well unless you have the ability to lean the midrange enough to clear it up. I put an Enya .60 XF-IV heli carb on my S90 and it ran good on top, but needed to idle higher to be able to clean out the fat midrange you couldnt lean out enough. The midrange was adjustable, but not enough to make it work. The OS 108FSR carb (7D) is a popular replacement for the stock ST carb for two reasons. Many people don’t know how to tune an ST carb properly and aren’t satisfied with a rich midrange that can be tuned out, and the 7D carb has a bigger choke, so the engine often picks up 1k rpm or so.

I knew the Heli Carbs run fat in the middle, I just assumed it could be leaned out with the mid needle,
hmmm, I just remember a couple posts here on RCU, guys were putting their OS Hyper 50 Heli engines in planes, and they said the stock 60L carb and 40E carb worked (only 2 needle carbs), I replied to those post, but I still have not got my plane in the air with the Hyper 50, all I need now is a RX pack and she will be ready.

Hi Guys,
Been a while since I've visited this thread; however, I just came by a Saturno G90, with muffler, that looks lightly used and is very clean. I have no use for it. If anyone is interested I'll sell it at a reasonable price. The prob is, I have no idea what it's worth. Anyone want to give me a ballpark figure? Or you can PM me with an offer.

If the ring is still all black, I’d say $65-80 without box or paperwork. If the ring is silver in color, I’d say $50-60 without box and paperwork. The Italian engines tend to be more sought after, so they get a little better money typically. At least what I’ve seen on eBay and forum classifieds.

Thought I'd offer it here initially. Anyone want to make an offer?

Twin 60
Just bought nib twin 60. I know super Tigre put out two versions. The first the rear cylinder would over heat due to running lean. The second version had a larger hole in the crankshaft. Does anybody know how to identify which one I might have?

Thanks for the info. At the moment it is still a new in the box engine. However it is still good to know. For the moment though I am still searching to find a vector drawing or a scale drawing which I could trace and keep correct measurements of the engine so that I could place it in my drawing. Anyway, thanks for the info..it is worth having. Thanks.

It took some digging but I found a Super Tigre brochure which has a drawing and all the dimensions for their engines on page 14. If you can clip the drawing and resize it to match the engine according to those listed it might work. You could draw it out on plywood and make a template like an old builder I knew. I hope it helps, it is all I have to go on.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the brochure. I shall try and do that. I just want to trace it and include it in my drawing. We will see how it goes. However, its a great brochure; nice to have it.
Thanks again.
