Default Seidel ST 770

I inherited a Seidel ST 770 seven cylinder radial from my R/C flying buddy who died. Does anyone have experience with this particular engine and can you tell me anything about them? Thanks.

Hello,

This is a great engine, you have to run it with a 22x10 to 24x10 prop.
6% oil and no nitro (8% if he is new -> first hour, 7% for second and third hours)
The engine is as powerfull as a 50cc would be and is great to fly with glow driver.

If you need other informations, just ask.

Best regards,

Gilles

Thanks, Gilles. I am hoping to crank it up this summer.

Thanks again.

you're welcome, you'll enjoy it. One more thing, if you run it new, don't use a collector ring. This will allow you to check that every cylinder is firing.

Gilles, thanks again. I don't believe it has been ran before.

Hello TJ,

I agree to Gilles, it's a marvelous engine, idle at 900 to 1000rpm and a really realistic sound. A hint to start it, priming is easy if You just inject about 0.5cc of fuel into each exhaust pipe of the upper three cylinders and turn the engine two revolutions backwards. It starts normally on the first flip at throttle position at idle then.

I just purchased a model that has a Seidel ST-770 on it. It is missing a pushrod. Does anyone know if there are spares available anywhere? Nothing on the Seidel site.

Donn-- Thanks! I just emailed them. I didn't see Seidel listed anywhere on their site. Fingers crossed they can fabricate a few.
