I notice how the only "K" or Kyosho words are on removable parts?

Hi!
Asmund ...Kyosho sells them: Some are mounted" ready to race" in their ARF Calmato trainer airplanes.
Tried one engine yesterday...remarkable! very smooth and very powerful. Turns a 10x6 RAM plastic prop at 14100rpm on 80/20 castor oil fuel....just a tad better than the Webra .40 GT which is the best .40 sport engine on the market.
We use these .40 engines in our Q-500 pylon racing class over here in Sweden

In my humble opinion, it identical to a magnum engine, for some reasons:
The thrust washer is the same to the magnum's.
the exhaust port in the block, where it meets the muffler is unmachined (it has a rough finish) as the magnum
The barrel looks identical to the magnum.
The rear needle assembly is identical to the magnum.
Even the drilled muffler plate that goes inside de muffler is the same
And magnum rules!!

Hi!
You can buy them from many hobby shops...or from e-Bay. ASP .40 is sold by HiModels in China and it's the same engine but the ASP has a slightly smaller rear silencer opening than the Kyosho GX.40.

It is ABC.
Jaka, those figures are extremely strong. I have the Webra .40 and cannot get those RPM's on FAI fuel, which it runs really well on. It is the early ringed version though.
How good is the Kyosho .40's throttling on FAI fuel?

Hi!
All .40 engines today except the Rossi (and MVVS) are ABN.
Try a Nova Rossi 4 or 4A plug...or Merlin! Difference isn't very large though from using ordinary OS 8 or Enya 3 plugs ...but slightly better in favor of the former.
Sorry! But the old ringed Webra .40 is no mach for the more modern Webra GT .40 (or ASP/Kyosho .40) ABN engine!
Both the Kyosho GX .40 and Webra GT have instant throttle respons using 80/20 fuel (Castor oil) . The same when using 15% all syntectic oil (Motul "micro" or Aerosave) 5% nitro and 70% methanol fuel which is my ordinary fuel mix when sportflying.
The Kyosho GX .40 is set up for the Amercan market where it's common to use 15% nitro, so if you want best performance from 0-5% nitro you better remove one or two of the 0,2mm head shims. The engine is easier to set, rew better and throttle better that way.

The ASP's and SC's engines I have benefit from true hard chrome plating in the cylinder.
They are a few years old though. Has Sanye changed it's plating to nickel?

The ABC lines is great indeed. The only problem is the ball bearings used in the ASP/Magnum/SC engines. Until the liner is completely set, you might change the ball bearings once or twice. But you can get new bearings easily.

My Magnum and Chinese made SuperTigre are both hard chrome/brass liners. I have a friend that has the Kyosho 40 in a Calmato and it runs extremely good.
