Bob, here is one possibility but its a Pitts muffler and my .61f wearing an MVVS 3255 Quiet Muffler.

The port size, according to Dave Shadel. will have no effect, unless you reach, or exceed 20,000 RPM.

The OS port is also '.61 sized'...


MVVS .61-.91 mufflers also have the same bolt-spacing of the Webra Speed .61 and OS.61FSR.

They will still be quite easy to find.

Here's something I've never seen or heard of ever before. Anyone know the history on this one?

It's described as a Webra 10cc Copper Version, and supposed to be displayed in their museum, but it's new to me.

Is this thing painted, or is it all cast in copper? It looks painted to me...

I do like the black anodized carb and prop plate.

It's sitting on eBay right now.

If you look close that engine is pretty well beat up, someone trying to slide one of on everybody. If you look at the top edge of the carb it has been painted crudely and the copper coloor is very thin on the engine. It is a SilverLine .61 circa 60s or 70s. It also shows signs of having worn a strap on muffler quite a while.

That's what I'm thinking too...

Nothing on the box says it's a commemorative. Looks like someone just painted up a standard 10cc and anodized the aluminum.

The piston port looks clean, but it could have just had a good cleaning job if it was used.

Looking at the inside corners of the rear cover, it looks like its simply just been painted over.

The "Copper Version" is stated it is a special production, but it still puzzles me...

My .61 in ther foreground has never been on a plane, its little brother in the background has flown an USAircore Colt 40 many times, it takes about a year to burn 8 oz of fuel.

I wish I had my original Webra Speed .61 w/Dykes ring back. What a wonderful engine, after I got rid of the Dynamix carb and replaced it with a $10.85 (sale at Tower) HB carb.

LOL!! A Dynamix victim. Once I get a boat built (about a three year quest now) and a Speed put in it, I'm going to PROVE those carbs work (somehow)...

Here's a question,

Whats the product number on the standard 10cc Webra? Would a tuned pipe work on it? Or is the timing not right for a pipe, and really could only use a muffler?

It's the #1020 cross-flow I was wondering about. Thats the one. Same as that "copper" or Silverline version above.

With that being a baffled piston, does a tuned pipe have any performance effect on something like that or would it be more of just a fancy muffler?

I have the 10cc all cleaned and ready for new bearings now, the cylinder wear doesn't look too bad but I bet it could use a new ring. Who carries parts for the #1020 other than Webra-Austria? I looked through Horizon, RCMadness, Liesure Time, ect.

I found a set of steel bearings that fit the life left of the sleeve at the right price at rc-bearings and got to wondering if it is worth hunting down and buying a new needle bearing for the connecting rod.

Does anyone know where I can pick one of these up and how to install it without damaging it? If they are cheap enough, and easy to get, I'll try and replace that at the same time.

Waiting for Tower to have a spiral carb spring in stock for behind the throttle barrel I can buy seperate unlike the Webra small parts set.

Did anyone know if there is a micro size O-ring in this type of needle barrel? They show a small O-ring to seal the needle in one of the sets but not sure for which carb uses it.

Hey Dave. The adapter is really quick and easy to make with the right tools and equipment. Here is an Enya muff on a Fox .45. Cause I couldn't afford the 30 something bucks for the factory muff. not when I have a box of odd mufflers laying here.

Can anyone define what makes a Webra a Webra? the Silverline .61 looks a lot like my Enya 60-III. A real good runner in it's own right.

My 3 webra`s are fantastic. 36, 91, and webra/west 50

The 91 is a little heavy, but it is extremly reliable.

Wow that's awesome. It looks like a two-piece head, and a twin plug. Is that a West engine? I'm guessing its Webra's 90 aircraft engine. Definetly not a Webra fuel pump back cover...

Hi,

I picked up a .61 speed on the bay for $43 and it is in great shape it has been run but not a lot. Is there a way to date this engine there are no #s on it but the exhaust is not drilled or taped for a muffler.

I have ordered a MVVS muffler from Dar. and I will drill and tap the engine.

I learned later that the Dynamix is an excellent carb, IF you know that it was designed to be used with a fuel pump. I had German in high school, but it didn't help me decipher the instructions for this wonderful engine.

The HB carb's shank was too large, but a short session with my file (before I had a lathe) had the HB carb setting in the Webra Speed .61 looking and working just like they came from factory together. The engine ran great with the HB plastic carb. I sold the Dynamix to a friend, after using it for one summer without a pump. Just to get that far took a lot of "tweaking" with files and needle nose pliars.

I don't know of an official dating scheme, but if it came with a Dykes ring (right at the very top of the piston), it was made around 1980 or slightly after. Later models were offered in ABC and ABC/ring versions, IIRC.

I have a couple of official Webra parts documents which they have sent to me that cannot be found at their website. I thought I would post them up for reference for anyone that could use them. It would be great if anyone else could do the same with any hidden documents they might have. There's also a set of Dynamix instructions that can be hard to find.

What is strange about the #1020 motor is the parts explosion and parts list do not show wrist pin safety clips, even though my motor has them. Anyone have an idea which e-clips to use on it? I can't find any clips that carry the #1020 prefix. I also noted the size of each gasket is different for the housing, and needs to be that way. Is this a matched set when you order it?
