Saito 56 probs
Hi all ,my engine just run at idle and when I try to speed up the engine die.
I changed the glow plug for a new OS F and I tried a tank to the outside of the aircraft and I have always the same problem.
I removed the main needle and pumping gas into the carburetor inlet to remove dirt and no change.
W can I do ??

You don't understand that you don't question W8YE. You just do it and it works.
Sincerely,

No, next to W8YE and a zillion other resident experts on RCU, I know it all already. However, I thought I was wrong once, but, I was wrong about that also. Actually I do consider W8YE to be the expert and I was complimenting him, not disparaging you. My apoligies to you.

Tig, one more little jewel, when the low speed needle is too lean it causes the high speed needle to be vague or even ineffective. In this shot of a Saito carb the "catseye" slot is where the fuel flows into the airstream, the sleeve that slides in and out over the spraybar is the " low speed needle", when the low speed needle covers up too much of the catseye you get the condition you've described.

It is because the condition you describe indicates a lean mixture at idle, that is when you open the throttle and engine just dies. If you were to open the throttle and the engine sputters, stumbles, and smokes it would indicate a too rich mixture.
