ys 60 fr
i ve found a "brand new" never used ys 60 fr on a famous site, to be used on a classic pattern plane...
i ve used an os 8 glow plug and a 5 per cent nitro fuel.... as long as the battery is clamped on the plug, the engine runs... perfect, at all rpm... but, as soon as i disconnect the battery, the engine runs too rich and stall.... i ve tried with 3 new plugs, still the same, and the glow plug has been worn... so, is anybody knows what combination of fuel and plug do i need? i ve searched everywhere on internet, and did not find something clear.... The user notice from ys itself recommend to use "the proper fuel and plug", with no other advice... thanks a lot to everybody!! |
RE: ys 60 fr
Will she lean out with the glow plug lit?
If so your fuel is old. Get some good fuel with 100% oil castor. The YS used an ABN P&L and as such need all the protection that 100% castor affords. I ran my YS short stroke 60 on 11x 7 to 11x 8 props on a full wave pipe with 5% nitro fuel. for plug selection look here, http://www.modeltechnics.com/glowplug/firepower.html. !!!DO NOT USE PETROLEUM BASED AFTER RUN OILS!!!! All the best, |
RE: ys 60 fr
and the solution is..... 25% nitrométhane.... runs perfect since that... i will keep it in mind, many of my engine has mid range problems, now, i know...
