Torque Specs
Hey Guys
I pretty much make a living over tightening things! Has anyone ever printed a resource for torque specs on small engines like the 2 stroke glows I fly? Or should I most likely refer to a general spec for the size faster I'm tightening. Tommy D |
RE: Torque Specs
You should apply about 13 lbs/ft of torque on cylinder heads and about 11 lbs/ft of torque on backplates.
Hope this helps. |
RE: Torque Specs
You mean INCH / Pounds.....correct!? ;)

Here is a chart for the Tork-It, I use 5-7 for most backplates and common sense on head bolts. 4-40 head bolts get about 6, m4 get about 10, m3 about 7, etc.

RE: Torque Specs
I sure hope not. You will be looking for new parts of various metals!

Tommy,
Consider that the weakest link is the aluminum female thread; so be gentle and only strong enough. Never tight hot aluminum. http://www.engineershandbook.com/Tables/torque3.htm |
