Engine temp reading?

what part of the engine should i take the temp reading from?
When i put the temp gun to it i get abought 3 temp readings on different parts of the engine.

Engine temp reading?

Use the base of the glowplug to standardise on. Metal thickness to the combustion chamber is then the same with virtually all engines.
