glow engine problem

I recently had a moisture problem in my basement. I did not catch it for over a week. By the time I dried everything out and checked all of my equipment I noticed that the two glow engines i ad no longer turn over easily. I am sure that the moisture affected them. I have a OS .61 and OS .46. I dont know how to fix them. Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

You will have to pull the back covers and look in there and see what you have? If it's solid rust, you're probably too late? If it looks pretty much normal in there with no rust then soak it in penetrating oil for a week and see what you get?

Good luck,

Jim

It could be just congealed castor oil. Could be that they were that way before the moisture and you didn't think to check it till after the moisture problem. I so you could heat it up with a heat gun and try to turn it over. If that doesn't work, put some fuel in the cylinder through the glow plug hole and carb. Let it soak for a while and then try to turn it over.

Take off the back covers just to be sure before you do anything else!

Thanks everyone.

I actually heated the cylinders and they now move like they used to. I guess it was just that way becuase of lack of use. I havent been able to fly this summer. I havent started them yet, but that will happen this weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
