Revive an engine

Hi folks,
I've been out of the RC hobby for a while, and since I was just a novice then, some help would be welcome. I want to get my old plane flying again. It's a Goldberg Eagle II with an OS 40 engine. I just want to know how to go about getting the engine going again. Thanks in advance for any help. Ricky aka DeltaSoulToad |

Take it completely apart. Look at the bearing and crank to see how bad the rust is. Also check or change all O-Rings. If it looks good just clean it up well and give it a try.

I forgot, you will probably need to change your fuel tank a lines if they are very old. Or at least make use they are good and clean. Sometimes the tank will get a thick green slime in it after sitting up a long time.

Be like Jimbo, good advice.
Some folks oil it up fairly well before cranking - Marvel Mystery, After run oil, etc. But if its been broken in well in the past, other folks believe your fuel will have enough castor in it to suffice. Your choice here. |
