Need help identifying this engine

Belongs to a friend. 40 size. He bought it at a local swap meet. Looks like a remote high speed needle adjustment. Any help would be appreciated.

It's a Skyward made by Picco in Italy. As I recall they were made for World Models. It's a very good engine. Yes it is set up for in-flight needle adjustment.

Thanks. Are there any carbs available for it without the in-flight adjustment? He's not real fond of that accessory.

Mine does not have the in-flight mixture control but otherwise it is the identical carb. I can't tell by the picture but it may be that that constant diameter brass section will slip off and then if you remove the lever arm assemble you can reinstall the needle and you will have a normal set-up.

I'm sure that there are other carbs that will fit i.e OS Super tigre Perry etc. You can also just lok the arm down.

Thanks again. I'll dig through my parts box, and see what I can find.

It is indeed a Skyward .40 made by Picco and distributed by Udisco in Canada. Although slightly detuned from the Picco .40 it is a great and powerful engine. I have one in a Tsunami .40 and it tears holes in the sky. Mine does not have the inflight adjustment but it looks as if you can remove it and screw the needle into the carb from the pictures.

There is a picture on this link fourth one down

By the way, parts are available for the Skyward engines right here
