Two things..
One of two: Advice/ tips on exhaust extension for Saito.72. Asked this in Q/A forum, no response.
Two of two: How short can the nipple be attaching the muffler to the engine? (Saito .72) Does it matter? I would like the muffler inside the cowl as much as possible. Will this cause an overheating problem? I'm new at 4 strokes, & know they produce a lot of heat, and open to any comments.. Thanks!!! Allen |
RE: Two things..
I believe PSP makes a 90 degree for the Saito. I am a cheap skate so I just bent the pipe myself for a 180 by filling/packing it with dry sand and plugging the ends with plaster of paris and then heated until hot enough to bend with ease into a 90degree. The sand prevents the pipe from collapsing.
Also I think Macs muffler, Bissson and slimeline makes some products to help with exhaust plumbing and there is also a pits type muffler that you might like but I have never tried those. . |
RE: Two things..
Saito sell's flexible pipes for the twins. Some of these will fit your engine. See the web site.
The engine will run fine with no muffler but with just the pipe part. If you take the pipe off all together and with just the bare cylinder head , the valve will burn. To move the muffler up close to the engine by cutting the pipe off will not hurt anything. Enjoy, Jim |
