Copper elbows?

I'm wanting to JB Weld some copper elbows onto my Slimline muffler to put a 90 degree bend in the pipes. Would anyone recommend against this?

Why would you want to do that? Why not try to use a product called "Blueline Silicon Tubing". It will allow the exhaust to be kept off the airplane, and not have a couple of ugly ole nobs on your engine that may not be needed on your next airplane? they are not expensive or permanent. Not bad for a couple of bucks, huh.

The Slimline is actually the wrong one for my setup. I've decided to get a Bisson Pitts Style, and not do any cutting or modifying. BTW, do the silicon tubes work on 2 strokes?

Yes... By all means, 2/4 stroke, does not make any difference. All you are trying to do is to remove the exhaust/residue away from the airplane. Good Luck
