Need help finding a source...

... for an OS 8AA carburetor. This is the "old style" (i.e., good) carb for the OS BGX-1. I have a NIB one of these, but it has the communist OSHA rear needle carburetor.

I used to have a phone number for a guy who had an amazing stash of OS engine parts, but that was from 20+ years ago; dunno if the fellow is even still around, and I cannot find that # in any event.

The Empire doesn't have it; tried searching both by the OSMG # and the factory stock #.

Anyone know where I might find one?

They didn't make too many of those carbs with the needle valve built in, they went to the remote needle valve pretty quickly instead.
Sometimes on that big auction site you can find the parts to put together a OS 8 carb with needle valve, but they usually price the parts accordingly though. Another idea is to get a ASP 1.80 carburetor. The ASP carb should bolt right up to a OS BGX OK. That huge Hong Kong based hobby shop sells the ASP engines and parts. But sometimes they have them on back order though.

Or try just engines on the UK, fast and cheap shipping, and they will help you out sourcing a carb that will fit your engine.

NOS stock went long ago because the carb "fixed" many other brands run problems. Unless you get lucky, which happens, you will have to rob an engine to get one. Asking price for one will make you think about buying another engine. You might find a big SuperTiger with one and will be cheaper than the carb its self.
