What is the difference between the red head engine and the gold head engine besides the external differences?
I ran a red head back in 1988, loved it, but have not run a gold head.

Thanks for the link proptop. I have been there before. Very informative. There is no discussion about the design or performance differences between the two engines though.

Hi there,

In a nut shell, the red heads have 3 transfer ports whilst the more powerful gold head motors are 5 port.

obviously there are some other minor differences too.
