Super Tigre 90
 

I have come to own an 81 inch Super Sportster, I believe a Great Planes kit, and it is HEAVY. It weighs just under eleven pounds. It came with a Super Tigre 90 two stroke engine that runs well but I was wondering if this engine is enough for the plane. I am not a good enough flyer to avoid getting into trouble at times and does this engine have enough power to get me out of a questionable situation or do I need more engine? Your opinions are welcome.

I'm going to say more power. I wouldnt be happy with that combo. That engine on a 6 to 7 pound plane is sweet.

My stock S90 with Jett muffler turns a 13x6 APC at 13,300-13,500rpm on 5% fuel. That's about 14# static thrust. I would think that would be "par" power wise in a 11-12# plane. I'm sure a 1.0-1.20 2 stroke would do the trick.
