Sad, that is a great engine even though I never actually owned one, I had a 1.20 AX for a while, another great engine.

yeah that 1.60 is a nice engine. But unfortunately it has been squeezed out by the 30cc gas engines nowadays. So its market has become quite limited. Not many of us left that like to fly big glow engines anymore.

So let's convert the remaining new ones to gas/spark. Still a great engine.

Why? take out the head shim and run on 0 nitro, the fuel is as cheap as gas and has more power.

I converted one of mine to gas and believe it or not it will swing a larger prop at a better spool up that it did with glow fuel.
I still have another one in the box to be converted as well. One draw back is the oil content I use 20-1 ratio because of the bushed rod.
So far I have not been able to find a suitable roller bearing to replace it with. With the correct Walbro carb the engine still has the mild manners of the glow version and flip starts with ease after a slight priming.
About it being discontinued I am suprised it has lasted this long all of the other FX series went south years ago, that says something very good about the 160 in my mind.
