Saito 182 twin glow driver

Breaking in a new Saito182 twin and having trouble keeping it lit when the throttle is pulled back around 2-3000 rpm. I kept i very rich for 3-4 tanks and now as i am leaning it will not stay lit without the glo drivers hooked up. Checked the pressure tap on the exhaust for pressure to the fuel tank and it bubbles in water. Tried OS F glo plugs, leaned it way out at mid range and backed off. Same thing. Only way to keep it fired to idle is to leave the glo drivers on. Maybe a onboard glow drive would be the answer? I have 8 Saito singles in planes right now( 72,82,100,125 s) and NEVER had this problem. My first twin and can not figure it out. Thanks , Woodley

Single carb? One rich one lean. Similar problem with 90TS

Woodley, set the air bleed screws to half way across the inlet holes, then go to full throttle and lean each high speed screw to full peak. That should fix you up.
PS, at my house all Phillips head style screws get tossed into the junk bin. No matter their original purpose.

Woodley, I did a better response in the Club Saito Thread.

Hi!
What prop size do you have on? An 18x6 APC or there about is what I would choose. Too small prop make the idle suffer, especially if it is a wooden one.

Yes Sir , A ball driver into allen screws for the idle adjust would be a lot easier. And i could not agree more on the Phillips Straight slot is not even in the same ballpark.. Thanks for the feedback Trying to switch to RC after flying Cubs in Alaska for over 30 years. One thing I've learned here in America is "It's a lot warmer " I'm learning. Woodley

Jan, this 18 x 6 looks good on there, and I have a prop suitable for a War Bird if I build one.
