Saito 82 needs a new home.
Been out of the hobby for several years. I have a Saito 82 sitting around. There doesn’t seem to be many arfs that size anymore. Looking at the Hanger9 valiant 10cc. I think the 82 is 13 cc. Is this motor too heavy or not a good fit for the Variant? Everything seems to be gas or electric now. Kinda clueless about it. Any help or arf suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Valiant is a good model, I also have an E-Flite (electric) Valiant - good flyer, but after a small mishap I stiffened it and added some structural support (fiberglass rod) and now it's a great flyer! |
The Valiant is sitting smack in the middle of my radar screen too. Has a lot of the proportions of one of my other favorites, the Toledo Special.
The Saito FA-82 or even an FA-72 would carry it well. I also have an O.S. FS-95v that has yet to find a prominent place in the Norwegian Princess's hangar. Nuff said, tomorrow I call the Prop Shop and have Matt order one!:D |

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...7c02eff80.jpeg Thanks CW for knocking me off the fence. Prop shop opens at 11:00. I will be calling! How about it Dave? You buy one and I will swing by, we can fly em together! Only fitting after all these years. |
So tempting, the Radio purchase puts that on hold a bit. Let me burn some brain cells on it.

Got one on the way. The OS FS-95V is waiting and ready .
|
Very nice, are you going to invert the OS 95? Thanks

If you look at the weight of the Saito .82, it is right between the weight of the OS .46 and .55. I purchased a GP PT-19 ARF recently and opted for the .82 over the 46 or 55 options. I would think that any of the plentiful .46 to .55 ARFs or kits would fit the bill for this great little engine. Just my $.02.

The 82A was a bit lighter thanks to the plastic back plate, Saito "forgot" to update the weight specs for the 82B... Still no problems with the logic and rational, I would choose the Saito 82 over the 46 or 55 AX anytime. |
What he said, totally agree. Too bad the bigger 4Ss cost nearly twice their gas counterparts. Also, the cost of glow fuel is starting to make glow engine less than affordable for some.
