SC52 Four Stroke
Hello all,
I've just inherited this SC52 FS engine. Can someone please identify which generation it is? I hope the photo's will be able to reveal its version. Thank You  https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...5caab7e64a.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...436f6afd54.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...6cdf4153b0.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...1f7248532e.jpg Much appreciated |
That appears to be an older type. Mechanically nothing wrong with it, but the carbs of those years were to say the least, a bit iffy WRT adjustability and precision of manufacture.
The later carbs should however fit without problems and can be recognized in that the low speed needle is recessed in the throttle lever. It will run as is, but most likely have its issues finding a decent setting. With the latest carb it should basically run troublefree. Suggested fuel 5~10% Nitro, 18% synthetic. Plug, OS FS or Enya #3 Prop in the general area of 11~12 x 6 Looks like the propdriver is missing though. |

It's quite a tidy engine and all the parts not mounted are in the bags either side of the bench. It's a complete engine. |
