OS120 S-E Timeing question
Buddy of mine pulled apart an OS120 S-E that everyone thought was a waste. After cleaning it and giving it a nice valve job, its a work of art. However, in the process of cleaning it the timeing marks are now un-readable. Anybody know the easiest way to put it back together and get the timeing right, or have any info on the timeing?
Thanks |

Quick and dirty: Stick the cam and pushrods in, then with your finger on the push rods to feel their movement, play with the cam setting until you feel one rod coming up and the other going down as the piston hits top dead center. This will, of course, be every other turn of the crank if you turn it through. Then reinstall the cam cover and bearing, with oil, of course, install the rockers, and eyeball the overlap point again as a double check. If it's right, adjust the valves, oil the rockers, finish the assembly, and go fly. Bill. |
