Moki 1.8 mount

I am putting a Moki 1.8 on a CA models 24% Extra. I have the radial back plate mount but it doesn't fit very well on the engine box/firewall (the firewall is small). I've been looking around for a beam mount for this engine but haven't found much for this size engine. The closest I have come is the Great Planes 1.20-1.80 mount (up to 1.8 4-cycle). I have the smaller version in my UCD holding a YS91 and it is pretty tough. It survived a crash which destroyed the airplane and engine. Do you think the 1.20-1.80 mount will work with a Moki 1.8? Another issue is that the Moki radial mount is pretty heavy at 8 oz and I'm trying to keep this plane as light as possible.

Thanks,
Chris

RE: Moki 1.8 mount

I used the glass filled mount for the 1.80 with my 2.10. worked fine.had to trim a little off of the triangle support ( about .125" ) not too bad though.

RE: Moki 1.8 mount

Hanger 9 provides a mount with all of their 1/4-scale ARFs that is perfect. You can buy it separately for $9.95 I also tried to mount a Moki 180 on a Hanger 9 73" Cap 232 and the firewall was definetely not design for a radial mount. The aluminum mount that came with the kit is design to take an very wide variety of engine sizes and easily took my Moki. Check out this link:
